AMEN!!!!!!!!!!Love it Lorri! You are totally RIGHT! Our children are HOME where they BELONG!! :) That poem did nothing for me, except make me want to get on my knees in a prayer of thanksgiving to God for leading me to homeschool my girls.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('127','Anonymous','AMEN!!!!!!!!!!Love it Lorri!
What a heart breaking poem...I'm so glad ours were/are at home where they belong...
I should write a poem like that for my almost 23 and 19 year old daughters....now that we are releasing them in to the world....I pray it treats them well but more than that...I TRUST HE will care for them!
Reply - Quote

Amen!Wow, how sad is that.
That is disturbing to me as well. How sad! He knows this is not going to be good for his child and that she will be losing so much, nevermore to return... And all he does is watch her go and lament??? I hope he knows he CAN do something else? How much sadder would it be if he did know and just chose not to? ? Sad, sad, sad! I know homeschooling is all fraught with 100% joy and happiness. There is sacrifice, and at times our children may even feel isolated. I'm not naive enough to think that homeschooling never has a downside. But to me, the downsides just don't even begin to compare to what this little girl faces AT FIVE!!!
On another note, I think you've just given me another blog topic- how and why I came to be a homeschooling mom.
Thanks for your help with my blog. Hopefully you'll be seeing verses soon. Maybe I can try it tonight. Take care and enjoy your new school year! :)
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('124','PosterGirl','That is disturbing to me as well.How sad!
Amen to your post! I love having my kids at home, and I love that the bright confident light in their eyes has not been dimmed by hurtful comments, unkind teachers, bullies on the playground...We are the ONLY family to homeschool in our small town, where all the other kids are in the same classes, etc...but I know we are doing what is best for our kids. I also know a lot of my friends that have real issues with the school..yet cannot see homeschooling as an option for them. "I don't have the patience..what about socialization..I'm not smart enough."
I'm so glad my husband and I both feel complete peace about our decision.
darci :)
