Jesse Tree Ornaments
Whew! The Jesse Tree Swap is completed and all the packages have been taken to the post office. I was going to share a little bit of the behind the scenes goings on, but let’s just get to the good stuff.
Everyone did such a wonderful job with their ornaments. I can’t say enough about each one of them. I had so much fun opening the packages as they arrived and marveling over the different interpretations of each symbol.
I also want to say a big THANK YOU to Mary Chris who drove up from Virginia to help me pack and mail the boxes. She’s also hand delivering 4 of them. If not for her, I think I’d still be trying to unload my car at the post office.
And so without further ado, I present, in no particular order, the Jesse Tree Craft Swap Ornaments of 2007:
God’s Forgotten Scroll is Found
Ruth and Boaz (Sheaf of Wheat)
Sacrifice of the Son (Lamb)
(due to a miscommunication, 2 sets of sheep were made. The other one is similar)
Angels Proclaim the Miraculous Birth
Joseph in Egypt (each colorful coat is different)
(if you’re seeing a pumpkin hat, click on the picture and you’ll see the correct one )
The Fall of Adam and Eve (the apple is a truer shade of red and looks less like a tomato in person)
Return to Jerusalem: Preparation for Messiah (Brick Wall)
Exile and Persecution (Fiery Furnace)
David and Goliath (Slingshot)
Mary, Mother of All Living (each ornament has a different picture of Mary)
Prophecy: A Shoot From the Stump of Jesse
Prophecy: The New Creation (Lion and Lamb together)
(image copyright Stampin’ Up! 2007)
The Blessing to Abraham (Tent and Camel)
The Promised Land: Canaan (Cluster of Grapes)

How cool is that! They look gorgeous! Looking forward to the start of advent! Thanks to everyone for doing an amazing job! (we were the wheat 🙂
Thank you Lorri for all your hard work and to Mary Chris for her last minute boost of assistance.
Wow! These are great! I can’t wait to open our box and begin hanging!
Thank you so much, Lorri, for organizing the swap at this busy time of year.
Awesome!! I so didn’t want to peek, but couldn’t help myself! They are all so wonderful. We can’t wait to get our box. (we were the Passover) Thank you everyone!
The ornaments are great. I teach 5th and 6th grade Faith Formation and was looking for a craft idea to do with the class. We will only have time to do a paper type ornament. Your ornaments gave me a lot of inspiration! Thank you!
I am thrilled with your ornaments. Could you tell me how you organized your swap. For years I’ve wanted ornaments much like these and have settled for something cut out of a book, not much of an ornament. Did your group enclude directions for how they made their ornament?
I am in the process of deciding how I want to do a Jesse Tree. I would love to know how you organized your swap as I have several friends who are also interested in starting this tradition. Thanks.
For more information about how I organized the swap, including links to the documents I used, please see my post here: Jesse Tree Craft Swap
I’m preparing to make my first Jesse tree with my daughters, and am looking around the web for info and ideas. I love the symbols you used! I’m confused, though, as to what readings they go along with. Could you possibly publish the associated readings for the symbols you used? That would be such a great help!
Thank you and Lord bless you and your family!

Do you guys know what Eve and Pierced Heart symbolizes on the tree?
–Please help!
Thank you so much for your inspiring story with pictures. We enjoy doing Jesse Tree devotions for Christmas with our family of seven. Only me (the mom) is the only girl. I enjoy making ornaments to treasure and keep tradition going.
