Springtime

Early_spring_07_2
The temperature around here is slowing creeping back up from the snow event we had on the day before Easter.  The prediction for today’s high is 62 degrees, which is about as warm as I can handle.  Sunday, however is a big question mark.  We could actually be getting more snow!  Not much, maybe just a flurry, but still – snow in mid-April!  I love snow, but my born-and-raised-in-Southern-California mind cannot get used to the idea.  But I guess that’s what Spring is – a time of transition.  Eventually the warm temps will win out and summer will take hold.  To celebrate, Dawn of By Sun and Candlelight (one of my all time favorite blogs!) has put together an Early Spring Field Day.  Stop on by to celebrate the beauty that is Early Spring.

I’m Back!

I am back!  Eleven, count them, eleven days of no internet service, daily calls to Comcast demanding to know just when their technician would be here, occassional trips to use the computers at the library…ug. And you know what the guy did to fix it – went to the cable box outside and unplugged, then replugged in our line.  Sigh.  But I’m back.

Wow!

Wow!  Check out my new look!  If you’re reading on Google reader or Bloglines – come on over and see my blog in real life.  Jules at Everyday Design did a great job.  I was afraid that I was being both too specific and too general with what I was looking for. I wanted patriotic, whimsical, country but not cute – and she got it just right.  I’m loving it – it’s so me. Leave me comment, you know how I love ’em, and let me (and Jules) know what you think.  (PS – I’m still at the library with no internet service at home.)

I’m So Lost!

My internet service has been down since Friday!!! Can you believe it!  And Comcast has been so helpful, that they are going to send someone out maybe as soon as Thursday to come fix it, if I’m lucky.

So I’m at the library right now, just to let you all know that I have not gone missing in action and that all is still ok in the land of mac and cheese.  See how much I love you all!

We’ve pretty much had it with Comcast High No Speed Internet Service.  We’re switching to DSL.  Maybe it’ll be slower, but quite honestly, I’d go back to dial-up at this point.

Ok, beloved internet buddies, my library computer time is almost up and there a couple of other things I still need to do.  I never really noticed how much time I spend on the computer during the day.  Now I’m just sort of aimlessly wandering around the house, wondering what to do.  Maybe’ll I’ll unpack a moving box or something.

Woo Hoo

Do you know what today is?  It’s my blogging anniversary!  I’ve been blogging for a whole year now, can you believe it?  I guess it’s time that I make the move from my old blog to this one complete.  I’ll be working on that for the next couple of days.  So there’s not going to be any new posts from me until at least Tuesday.  If you’re reading through a feedreader, you may see some of my older posts pop up as new while import them, then add the pictures back in.  If you’re visiting my actual blog every day, you won’t notice anything different at all.

Speechless

My previously planned post for today has been postponed to bring you this:

WinnerchildrenMy “Lessons from Coconut Syrup” post won in the Children and Family category. How cool is that? And I was totally kidding about writing a long-winded acceptance speech. I really am quite speechless. I do want to thank everyone who nominated me and voted for me. I hope I’ve made some new blogging friends and that you’ll stick around for awhile. I know I enjoyed reading all the nominated posts and added many new blogs to my Bloglines feeds.

Security Issues

In the interest of National Personal Security, I will no longer refer to my children by their given names. Boo will remain Boo, because of course, that’s not his real name. Our oldest daughter will now be known as Pumpkin Girl or Pumpkin. I’ll be calling the baby Bip. I will probably keep calling Rebecca by her name, because she is safe at home with the Lord where evil will never touch her.

Hidden Treasure Awards

This is sticky post now and will stay on top until Saturday.  For newer posts, scroll down.

Well, who’d a thunk it?

Look, I made the finals!  My post about Lessons From Coconut Syrup was nominated in the Children and Families category.  Very cool.  While I’m off to write my long-winded acceptance speech, please go over to Hidden Treasure Blog Awards Voting and vote for me so I can have a chance to use my speech.  You can vote only once and for only one post in each category.

But truly, it’s an honor to be nominated.
